"Mr Excitement"

We got a show in Friday night but rained out Saturday.

Austin nearly flipped the car in his heat as he exited 4 but landed upright and restarted at the back of his heat. He battled back in short order to end up finishing 3rd. They inverted the first half of the field and he started the A from the 6th row inside. We got off to a bad start and he got tangled up when a couple other cars who got together in front of him. After a couple of the same sort of re-starts with (similar) results we finally got going.

Austin was comin’ and pickin’ em’ off like a “Chicken on a Cheeto” and with 3 (if my memory serves me correct) to go he made it by the 3rd place car to challenge for the lead. Austin battled his butt off but couldn’t quite get by the leader at the flag and finished 2nd on the winners' bumper.

It was a HOT, it was MUGGY and we were all wore plum out but the kid drove a helluva race as he passed darn near the entire field! We’ll go at it again next week.
