Shaffer wins Sprint Car World Championship
(Mansfield, OH) -- Tim Shaffer held off Aaron Reutzel for the $100,000 Sprint Car World Championship Saturday night at Mansfield Motor Speedway. Shaffer dominated through most of the 50-lap race until a couple red flags tightened the field. Reutzel slid Shaffer in the final turn but couldn't hold it and slipped high and Shaffer sped on to the checkered flag.
Chad Kemenah finished behind Reutzel in third as Joe Saldana and Cap Henry rounded out the top five.
