Chase Holland wins at Lincoln Speedway to close out Illinois weekend

On the second weekend in April, Chase Holland and his Industrial Dock & Door Company No. 45 Modified team traveled north for a trio of races in the Land of Lincoln. After kicking off his Illinois swing with two strong showings as part of the Illini 100 event at Farmer City Raceway on Friday and Saturday, Holland grabbed his seventh feature victory of the year at Lincoln Speedway on Sunday evening.

Sunday’s Door Buster event brought 21 DIRTcar UMP Modifieds to the quarter-mile track in Lincoln, Illinois, where Holland set the overall quick time in qualifying. He won his heat race from the pole and began the 20-lap feature from the fourth spot. He grabbed the lead on the 13th circuit and showed the way for the remainder of the race, taking the checkered flag 1.520 seconds ahead of Jeremy Nichols. Third place went to Ray Bollinger, with Lyndon Whitfill and Kyle Hammer finishing fourth and fourth, respectively.

Holland’s Sunday triumph capped a weekend that started on Friday in a 34-car Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) Modified Championship field at Farmer City Raceway. That night, Holland won his heat on the quarter-mile oval in Famer City, Illinois, and started third in the 30-lap, $2,000-to-win A-Main. He came home sixth.

On Saturday, Holland bested a 33-car MARS Modified field in qualifying and went on to win his heat race from the top spot. He began the $2,000-to-win main event in second position and finished fourth in the 30-lapper. He chased Michael Ledford, Cole Falloway and Michael Long across the start-finish line, while Kyle Hammer claimed fifth.
