BOYES ALREADY ON THE PACE!
Season 2024/25 has started well for David Boyes and the Boyes Motorsport team.
The opening round at Ellenbrook saw him claim a sixth and a second in the heat races before ultimately finishing tenth in the feature.
On the weekend just gone Boyes continued his good run; third and fourth in his heats and fifth in the main event, meaning he now sits in fourth place overall in the Series standings.
Prior to the season, Boyes went on record about what he was hoping to achieve, and he is already well on his way.
“Top ten results in any meet would be a good achievement for us as the competition certainly appears to have stepped it up in more ways than one,” said Boyes. “We also aim to get as many runs as possible on the board before the big month of March, where I would love to make the Australian Title A main and complete the race! This will be a big challenge based on the very high quality of drivers and teams this year that will be contending for the Title.”
In the off season there was plenty of work going on at the Boyes Motorsport headquarters, the family-based team doing all they could to be ready for the competition that the Pro Dirt Series offers.
“After only six shows last season being contended at Motorplex, Kalgoorlie, and Esperance, the engine had minimal laps on it after a refresh prior to the 2023/24 season,” said Boyes. “We already refurbished all areas of the car at that point too, so we have now gone over the car, replacing panels and refreshing areas as required.
We will be running a new decal design before long as we ran out of last season’s stock of decals!”
David and the team will again look to contest all rounds of the Pro Dirt Series, as well as whatever main events they can get to at Kalgoorlie and Esperance Speedway’s.
So, what is David looking forward to most of all?
“I’m really looking forward to getting out there and enjoying the racing and the camaraderie between the drivers and teams!”
