Bryan Bernheisel shows steady improvement during Appalachian Mountain Speedweek

The second week of the rain-plagued Selinsgrove Ford Appalachian Mountain Speedweek saw Bryan Bernheisel and team continue their campaign at Path Valley Speedway on Tuesday for the second round of the miniseries.

After finishing second in his heat race, Bernheisel advanced to an 11th-place finish in the 35-lap main event.

Following Thursday’s rainout at Selinsgrove Speedway, the team regrouped for Friday’s event at Bedford Speedway, where Bernheisel came out strong. He backed up a heat race victory with a solid ninth-to-sixth charge in the feature.

With Saturday’s stop at Lincoln Speedway also lost to weather, the Bernheisel Racing team shifted gears and headed to Bridgeport Motorsports Park on Sunday, fielding a second entry for special guest Briggs Danner in the Denny Superko-owned No. 31 Lazer Chassis Late Model.

Both Bernheisel and Danner earned dash starting spots through their qualifying efforts. Bryan capitalized with a dash victory and recorded his best finish of the week by claiming the runner-up spot in the 40-lap feature, joining winner Rick Eckert and third-place finisher Jakob Piper on the podium.

Making his Dirt Late Model debut, 23-year-old Danner impressed by finishing fifth in the dash and converting it into a strong fourth-place result in the feature.
