Robards, LaRose and RS12 teammates compete in Coles County opener
After weather forced a delay of one week, Coles County Speedway held its opening night of 2025 on Saturday evening. Several RS12 Motorsports drivers competed at the 1/8-mile track in Mattoon, Illinois, and picked up multiple top-10 results.
Longtime RS12 racer Harrison Robards took on both the Non-Wing Micro and A-Class Wing programs at Coles County. The Driven Midwest-backed driver won his Non-Wing Micro heat race and started third in the 20-lap A-Main. However, he suffered a DNF and ended the race with a ninth-place result. In A-Class Wing, “Dirty Harry” claimed third in his heat, then started sixth and finished seventh in the 20-lap feature.
Meanwhile, RS12’s Zander LaRose raced in Junior Sprints on Saturday and opened his evening with a fifth-to-third run in his heat race. He started the 15-lap main event from the fifth spot and advanced one position in his Spartan Transportation No. 1Z ride to come home fourth. He finished behind Colton Vogel, Paxton Belchik and Kruize Parson, while Madison Meany rounded out the top five.
Additionally, Parson, Presley Hall and Collin Shain represented RS12 Motorsports at Coles County. Along with Parson taking the third spot in the Junior Sprints feature, Hall came home seventh in the race. Shain finished third in the 20-lap Outlaw Wing A-Main.
