DOUBLE TROUBLE?

Last season marked the first time in many, many years that Jason Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) contested a full season and it paid off, with a number of wins and a solid finish in the overall Pro Dirt Series.

As much as he would love to, at this point Jason is unable to commit to another full season, so will run a couple of shows here and there when the time is right.

“I want to keep racing but at this stage I’m just not physical enough to do it, so it’s time for me to let it go” rues Jason.

At this stage Jason is planning on running the first round at Ellenbrook, then possibly a show at Kwinana around Christmas before moving into crewing duties and then coming back for the month of March for another chance at the Title.

Indeed, Jason has been incredibly close to winning the Australian Title previously, and still feels it is something achievable.

“I still aim to win that Australian Title” he smiles.

The team has had limited work to do in preparation for the upcoming season, with most parts replaced throughout the year, so now it’s just putting new panels and new war paint on.

Indeed, the car was raced by Jason’s son Beau to three feature race wins and an overall Winter Series victory recently, and from here who knows where Beau’s career will go.

“Beau will do a couple of practice shows at Kwinana before he gets a run at the Pro Dirt Rounds” says Jason. “I’ll be on crewing duties and return for a tilt at the title.”

Though the plans aren’t set in stone, one can only think that whenever the #11 fronts, it is sure to be in contention no matter who the driver is!
