Monahan leads BLR with runner-up at New Smyrna
Bryson Lopez Racing (BLR) kicked off its 2025 season on Saturday with a three-car effort in the Pro Late Model portion of the Red Eye 50/50 at New Smyrna Speedway. The trio of Chevrolet SS race cars all finished in the top 10 at the half-mile oval in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Newly signed Brody Monahan led BLR in qualifying with a third-place showing aboard the team’s No. 47 CriticalSigns.com Chevy. Fellow BLR driver Cole Robie turned in the fifth-quickest team in his No. 9 Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction machine. The team’s anchor driver, Brandon Lopez, qualified his Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction No. 6 car in seventh for the $1,250-to-win feature.
Monahan climbed one spot in the 50-lap main event to finish as runner-up behind winner Max Reaves. Jimmy Renfrew Jr. took third and Lopez advanced three positions to finish fourth. Rodney Dowless completed the top five.
Robie came home ninth in the 13-car field.
