KERZMAN BESTS MOTHER NATURE AND THE FIELD ON FIRST NIGHT OUT
Mother Nature would not play nice for the Friday night World of Outlaws show at Cedar Lake Speedway. Just as the PIRTEK UMSS Traditional Sprints were to take the track for the start of the heat races we would sit in a holding pattern for the first rain delay of the evening. Once under way all 3 heat races would run green to checkers on a very fast track.
The 16 of Anna Kouba and 3k of Jeremy Kerzman would lead a stout 21 car field to green for the PIRTEK UMSS Traditional feature race. Kerzman would take the early lead with the 12X of Anderson and the 14 of Shafer mixing it up right behind him. The yellow would come out with 16 laps to go for a suspension problem on the 12x who had been running in 2nd, the X car had pulled in and we would loose the 14 of Shafer and the 17b along with the 12x of Anderson. Kerzman would lead the field back to green only to have another yellow for rain. With persistant sprinkles the cars would leave the track to allow for the tractors to try to get it rolled in. After a lengthy delay for rain we would get back underway with 12 to go. The last 5 laps were great with the 3k out front and the 12 of Parsons and 7h of Hanson racing hard through lapped traffic. In the end it would be Kerzman headed to Rock Auto Victory Lane.
