Pair of 11th-place finishes with World of Outlaws at I-55
Ryan Unzicker traveled south to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 over the weekend, where the Missouri oval hosted a co-sanctioned event between the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series and the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.
With 53 Late Models on hand for Friday’s opener of the St. Louis Firecracker Faceoff, Unzicker set the pace in his qualifying group and went on to finish third in his heat race. Starting from the seventh row in the feature, he advanced three positions to record an 11th-place finish.
He matched that result in Saturday’s $20,000-to-win finale. After charging from fifth-to-second in his heat, Unzicker went on to finish 11th in the 40-lap main event, capping a consistent weekend against a stout field.
