July 1st Race Report

Friday night was scheduled to be an off week for Doe Run Raceway, but with the wet spring weather and weeks of rainouts, track promoter Bobby Johnson decided to add the date into the schedule, and 600cc Outlaw Micro racers responded with the largest car count of the season. Nineteen cars arrived to battle it out on the hot and steamy summer evening.

Jeremy's pill draw gave him the pole position in the third heat, and after a long back and forth battle for the top spot with current points leader Tyler Vantroll, Jeremy passed him for his second heat race win in a row, and earned him the third starting position for the feature event.

Engine troubles that began earlier in the day began to worsen, and a lack of power and a very loose car made the feature a frustrating event, with Jeremy eventually coming home in fourth place. The finish was a tough one to swallow after last week's win, but our good finish moved us up to second in points.

The engine problems which plagued us all night forced us to scratch our plans to run Saturday night at Belle-Clair Speedway in the Speedway Motors POWRi series.
