Katlynn Leer Announces Run for Holley Performance Rookie of the Year in the ARCA Truck Series!

Stand out, female, open wheel racer; Katlynn Leer gears up for the 2015 ARCA Truck Series. Katlynn, age 16, has signed on for a full ARCA Truck Series season with Extreme 7's Motorsports.

After racing with the series at Kentucky last year in a one off event, she has decided to settle in and run the entire series this year as a candidate for the Holley Performance Rookie of the Year honors.

Katlynn, took an interest in racing at an early age, and began ger driving career at 7 years old, in the flat karts on Midwestern dirt tracks. In only her 5th main event she grabbed the victory! From there Katlynn and her family began traveling around the Midwestern search of experience and more victories! Over the net four years came many wins but no year was better than 2010 when she raced 42 main events and won 28 of them.

In 2011 Katlynn moved into a micro sprint in the Midwest and in the USAC ignite midget on the west coast, with many top 5 finishes. Katlynn became the rookie of the year in VRA and also claimed their track championship!

In 2012 Katlynn came up with some impressive numbers to add to her resume including 2 feature wins, one at Antioch CA, and one in Avon IL, along with that she completed 6 heat race wins, 12 top 3 finishes, 18 top 5's.

Competing in a national midget throughout the Midwest in divisions such as POWRI, USAC and Badger series. During the 2013 racing season Katlynn had continued success with 2 Feature Wins, 5 to 5 finishes, and 9 top 10 finishes. She tested a K&N car for Derrike Cope at the Motor Mile Speedway and got invited to 2013 Rev Racing-Drive for Diversity!

Her 2014 racing season has broken records and made racing history! With 2 Heat Race Wins, 6 top 5's, and 11 top 10 finishes. On August 13, Leer tested a 3400lb ARCA car at Toledo Speedway. After very successful test session, Katlynn was ready to shatter ARCA Racing record books.

Katlynn made racing history this weekend of September 1, 2014 starting at the Kentucky Motor Speedway in the ARCA Truck Series, qualifying 11th and finishing 8th in the 100 lap event! This made her the youngest female driver to ever race in the ARCA Truck Series. In addition to that her finish was the best finish of any female driver in series history.

She received certification from the ARCA racing series and approval to make her ARCA Racing Series debut in DuQuoin, IL the next day! Leer qualified 19th for the Southern Illinois 100. She finished 23rd!
