Mack McCarter sixth in Spring Thaw Warm Up at Volunteer
Mack McCarter made a special Tuesday night appearance at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the Spring Thaw Warm Up with the XR Workin' Man Series.
Following the second-fastest lap in his 22-car group, McCarter outdueled Ricky Weiss to grab the victory in his heat race. Participating in the Dirt Dominator duels, Mack earned a sixth-place starting position in the 40-lap main event. For the $10,000-to-win feature, McCarter moved to fifth-place but fell back to sixth at the checkered flag.
On Saturday, McCarter was one of 60 competitors in attendance for the $100,000-to-win XR Super Series Spring Thaw 100. Recording the second-fastest lap in his qualifying group, Mack lined up on the front row of the second heat race. In the 10-lap heat, McCarter dueled with Bobby Pierce before being taken out by another competitor while battling for the lead. With the car sustaining significant damage, Mack was a scratch for the remainder of the evening.
