Brandon Overton drives to eighth in Silver Dollar Nationals at Huset's Speedway

Brandon Overton and the Riggs Motorsports Longhorn Factory Team returned to the Hawkeye State on Tuesday as Shelby County Speedway hosted the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) for the Kosiski Family 53.

While a fierce lead-swapping battle unfolded at the front of the $25,053-to-win feature, Overton advanced four positions over the 53-lap distance to finish sixth.

Shifting to South Dakota’s Huset’s Speedway for the 15th annual Silver Dollar Nationals, Overton recorded an 11th-place finish in Thursday’s preliminary feature before improving to 10th on Friday.

In Saturday’s $75,000-to-win finale, Overton charged from 19th to 8th before persistent weather forced officials to call the 80-lapper short with 13 laps remaining.

Overton currently sits seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
