Kyle Donahue wins at Rockingham Speedway
Kyle Donahue has honors of being the first driver to win at the reopened Rockingham Speedway and will have is photo honored on the Wall of Fame at the speedway.
Rockingham Speedway was reopened only two short months ago and the first races were held at the track today with the INEX sanctioned Legend, Bandolero and Thunder Roadster cars competing for the honor of winning the first events at the track since it was reopened. Seventy-four drivers from eight different states took to the track competing in nine different races.
The Beginner Bandit Bandolero race was won by Kyle Donahue over Brian Kolb and Angela Donahue. The division is designed to give young drivers without experience a chance to race for the first time against other young drivers. Kyle will have the honor of racing with the Bandits next week after taking today’s victory.
The Legend and Bandolero drivers raced on a six-tenths of a mile road course built mostly in the infield of the Superspeedway but had one section of the course that allowed the drivers onto the high-banks before turning back into the infield course.
