Brandon Gdovic Joins Performance Tech Motorsports’ Driver Lineup for the Grueling Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona

China Grove, NC (January 12, 2016) – Brandon Gdovic, the reigning Lamborghini Gallardo World Champion, is joining the Performance Tech Motorsports’ driver lineup for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona at the Daytona International Speedway Jan 30-31. Gdovic will be piloting the No. 38 ORECA FLM09 in the Prototype Challenge class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Series.

Gdovic completes a championship-caliber roster that includes fresh talent James French and Josh Norman, son of 2013 Rolex 24 Hours winner Jim Norman. A 6.2-liter Chevrolet LS3 430 HP V8 engine powers the 2000-pound ORECA FLM09. Gdovic had an impressive showing during intense training sessions on the road course in the ROAR before the 24 test event last week.

Known internationally as North America’s premiere endurance race, drivers compete in a punishing 24-hour road race that pushes man and machine to their limits. The non-stop action occurs on a 3.56 mile loop of the NASCAR tri-oval and infield road course. A total of 54 cars participated in the ROAR before the 24, this past weekend’s test at Daytona International Speedway, including all four divisions of the WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Series.

Gdovic’s recent foray into the sports car racing world has proved fruitful. He is fresh off the heels of a debut Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series season that far exceeded expectations. In just 13 starts, Gdovic won top amateur honors 10 times, securing the North American Amateur Championship and advancing through to win the Gallardo World Championship. He juggled sports car racing with stock car racing seamlessly, competing in three NASCAR XFINITY Series races in which he posted a career-best 13th-place finish at Watkins Glen International.

Gdovic’s Prototype Challenge car will be sponsored by ComServe Wireless and WindStax Wind Power Systems, continuing the multi-year relationship with both marketing partners.

“I’m excited about my first opportunity to be in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona,” said Gdovic, “It’s the most prestigious race I have ever been a part of. No matter the outcome, just getting the chance to be in the race will mean a lot to me. I’m thankful that Performance Tech Motorsports took interest in me being in their car and I hope to have a good race with them.”

The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona International Speedway will be televised live January 30th-31st, 2016 beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports. The complete broadcast schedule can be found at www.imsa.com.
