Late Model Racing Western Australia
FORMER CHAMPION ONSLAUGHT!
This weekend marks the 28th annual WA Late Model Title at the Perth Motorplex and it is certainly a huge field!
Contained within that huge field is a heap of former Champions all desperate to add another trophy to their cabinet and prove that they will also be in contention for the upcoming Australian Late Model Title!
No less than six of the thirteen former champions are in the field this weekend, with nineteen WA Title wins between them, headed by Brad Blake.
The ten-time winner would love to add another crown, and after declaring at the start of the season that he 'is not done yet' it wouldn't be a surprise to see him turn back the clocks and grab another win.
Fellow veteran racer Craig Vosbergen (Team Vosbergen Racing - TVR) has also thrown his hat in the ring for this weekend, the two-time champion hoping to grab a third victory some twelve years after his last win!
Warren Oldfield (Oldfield Racing), Jamie Oldfield (Oldfield Racing) and Brent Vosbergen (Team Vosbergen Racing - TVR) have also won the event twice each and if any of them, like Craig, can claim the win, it'll take them to three wins which means they will be second in the outright wins standings!
The final former Champion in the field is Kodee Brown (McCorry Brown Racing Team). Interestingly with Brown, he won the Australian Title the same year as his State victory and has only contested the WA Title event on three occasions in total, so who knows if all the stars will align for him once again on Saturday night!
Oh, as an extra snippet? Another six drivers who have finished on the podium (not including the aforementioned six drivers) also form part of this weekend's field!
