Shane Clanton's misfortune dooms strong run with Lucas Oil at All-Tech Raceway
Taking the reigns of the Austin Smith-owned No. 11 Capital Race Car for the weekend, Shane Clanton entered into the Winter Nationals at All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.) with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
With 45 Late Models signed on for Thursday's opener, Clanton put down the second-fastest lap in his qualifying group before taking the checkered flag in his heat race. Shane started third in the $10,000-to-win feature and even led a few laps before a flat tire forced him to pull in pitside. He wound up 21st on the grid.
Clanton started 12th in Friday's main event but was once again a retiree and finished 26th. Shane then finished out the weekend with a 23rd-place finish in the $15,000-to-win finale on Saturday.
