Marlar enjoys strong Infinity Race Cars debut at Atomic and Brownstown
When Mike Marlar unloaded at Atomic Speedway (Alma, Ohio) this past Friday to kickstart a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader weekend, the Tennessee racer was debuting in a brand new Infinity Race Cars in his Skyline Motorsports No. 157 Late Model.
Joining 32 entries for the Buckeye Spring 50, Marlar advanced into Friday’s opener with a second-place finish in his heat race. Moving forward in his first feature in a new chassis, Mike climbed three spots to finish fourth.
For Saturday’s 28th annual Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown (IN) Speedway, Mike’s fifth-to-third heat showing positioned him on the fifth row for the $25,000-to-win weekend finale. Cracking the top-five, Marlar passed six cars in the 50-lap affair to register another fourth-place finish. He chased Devin Moran, Ricky Thornton Jr. and Jonathan Davenport across the line with Josh Rice finishing fifth.
