Back at it after 10 years

This year will mark ten years for Lance Todd, its been that long since he has strapped into a race car. He began racing in 2002 shortly after turning 16 years old, racing just a hand full of times but managed to place as high as fifth. In 2003, Lance prepared to run his first full season at I-80 Speedway in the NASCAR Hobby Stock Division, in a car that was prepared for him two years earlier. New track ownership would not allow him to drive until his sixteenth birthday so his father (Randy Lee Todd) would drive for the 2002 season winning six times and finishing second in NASCAR Hobby Stock Points.

Todd would finish 3rd in his very first start and second the following week. It didn't take long for him to reach victory lane, the fourth start of the season he would find the checkers and assume the points lead. Todd went on to win four more times and finish second in points just fifty shy of the title. Over the next couple years he would only make a hand full of starts taking time to focus on high school graduation then college.

Last December a dream was set into motion as the LanceBuilt Racing Team purchased an IMCA Northern Sport Modified for the upcoming 2016 season. "I am super excited to get back behind the wheel, feel the power and embrace the competition," Todd said. The Lance Built Race Team is hard at work gathering parts and getting the car ready to race. The team has tentative dates scheduled for Eagle Raceway, Albion, Columbus, Beatrice, and I-80 Speedway. "We are running a limited schedule this season mostly because of our budget, but that also gives us the opportunity to just go out and try to steal a win or two and get some good finishes."
