Matt Henderson sweeps visit to I-75 Raceway

LOUDON, Tenn. (06/03/25) – In the wake of a weekend rainout, Matt Henderson’s last-minute decision to seek out another race proved fruitful, as the Tennessee native captured a convincing victory during a brief stop at I-75 Raceway.

Henderson piloted his Rusty Webb Racing / R&W Properties / Tennessee Shine Co. No. 22 Longhorn Chassis Late Model to his first win of the season in the event serving as a double points night for competitors.

“We were in the shop and bummed about not getting to race again this week,” Henderson said. “We were talking and decided we were going to race somewhere no matter what. Most of the options also had to postpone or cancel to weather so we looked at the weather in Sweetwater and decided that was our best bet. It was good racing around home again. Looking forward to the next visit to I-75 already.”

In an effort to dodge inclement weather on Saturday, Matt Henderson made his way to I-75 Raceway—and wasted no time making his presence known. He set the tone early by earning fast time honors in qualifying, then backed it up with a dominant heat race victory.

Rolling off from the pole in the feature, Henderson took command at the drop of the green flag and never relinquished the lead, cruising to his first win of the season at the 3/8-mile oval. The Lenoir City native crossed the finish line with a margin of victory exceeding seven seconds in the 25-lap main event.

"I can’t thank Rusty and Bonnie enough for the great equipment they provide us to compete with, and for all the hours Rusty spends alongside us in the shop," Henderson noted. "Appreciate Daryl, Gary, Hunter, and our C.O.O Richard Mingle for all they do for the team as well."
