Third-place podium finish with World of Outlaws at Deer Creek Speedway
Joining the national tour for another weekend of competition, Tyler Bruening rolled into Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) among 34 World of Outlaw entries primed for the three-day Gopher State 50 weekend.
Setting quicktime during night one, Bruening picked up a heat race win and started on the second-row of the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature. Tyler poked at the lead late in the 40-lapper but settled for a third-place finish behind Bobby Pierce and Ryan Gustin.
During the second preliminary night, Tyler kept the same speed throughout the night and redrew the pole position for the second $10,000-to-win feature. Bruening battled for the lead until a risky slider by Nick Hoffman sent him careening into the field behind him. The wreck ended Bruening's night as well as many others.
Saturday's $50,000-to-win finale was rained out and cancelled.
