Kolby Vandenbergh begins 2021 season at Farmer City for Illini 100

Behind the wheel of his Vandenbergh Concrete & Excavating No. 15 Late Model, Kolby Vandenbergh opened the lid on his 2021 season on Friday night at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the two-day Illini 100. Drawing 46 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Vandenbergh weighed in light at the scales after his time trial session that put him behind the 8-Ball for the remainder of the evening. Coming in seventh in his heat, Kolby transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Locking in the Top 3, Vandenbergh logged a 10th-place outing. (Todd Healy photo)

The following night, Kolby recorded an eighth-place finish in his heat, giving him one final shot at the $20,000-to-win Illini 100 with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place third or better, Vandenbergh fell two spots shy with a fifth-place finish.
