WAR Sprint Car Series looks ahead to 2016 season

Kansas City, MO - The WAR staff have been working hard this offseason to revamp the series in preparation for an ambitious 2016. Casey Shuman, the series owner, and his team have made many improvements to how the series will operate, all while holding onto its roots. Races on the 2016 WAR schedule will mostly take place in Missouri, with a few shows in Illinois.

During June 2016, WAR will run multiple events, including a two-day event June 17-18. The following week, the USAC National Sprint Car Series will travel to the Midwest to race in Nebraska and Kansas June 24-26.

“Unfortunately, the way scheduling shook out didn’t leave us with a week off before the USAC swing like I had imagined in order for co-sanctioning to make sense for our drivers and teams, who mostly work full time jobs and have families,” said Shuman when asked why WAR would not co-sanction with USAC in 2016 as it had in the past. “With this being our first year holding the reins, I want to be sure we are doing our best to meet the broad spectrum of needs our members have voiced.”

The WAR team left the weekend of the USAC swing open on the WAR schedule in order to allow teams to participate without scheduling conflicts. In addition to the dates listed above, WAR’s 2016 schedule includes exciting new racetracks aligned in a realistic traveling sequence.

“I would like to extend the option for any drivers, teams, tracks and fans with questions or concerns to please feel free to contact me,” Shuman explained. You can reach Casey Shuman by phone, at (317) 809-9657 or by email, at WarSprintCarSeries@gmail.com.
