Carter and Hibdon Pick Up Dirty 30's. West, Gusin, Padilla, and Bunch Navigate to Wins.
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 6th, 2025)
There was a big payout for the IMCA SportMods and Modifieds this weekend at American’s Bucket List Track. It's Capital Sign Twin Topless Dirty 30's $1,000.00 to Win IMCA SportMods/$1,200.00 to Win IMCA Modifieds. Draw / Redraw format for those divisions, weekly invert for the other four weekly classes will also be racing. 116 cars were checked in across six classes.
First to the track where the IMCA Mod Lites were presented by Drury Automotive. Garrison Anderson, a Huxley Iowa native started on the pole and to his outside was the 55 machine of Jaxon Carr. Last week’s feature winner Ben George ripped the top to lead lap one. The majority of this race saw Ben George ripping the top while Corn Belt clash champion Jon Padilla was riding out the bottom. A few caution saw the field re-rack together, but it was Jon Padilla parking his 11P machine in Victory Fuel Victory Lane. Ben George, Bryan Zhem, Josh May and Alex Eischeid rounded out the top five.
Following the IMCA Modlite feature, it was time for the IMCA Stockcars presented by Knight Sanitation feature. Josalyn Elmquist, a Boone Iowa Native started on the pole and to her outside it was the 5A machine of Tyler Pickett. Pickett would lead lap one. Jimmy Gustin was ripping the top the most of this race and the 23JR of Micheal Jaennette followed in the Jammer’s footsteps. Gustin would hold off Jaennette to secure his second win at the High Banks this season. Johnathon Louge, Steve Mayer who ran a plus 12 and Thor Anderson would round out the top five.
It was time for the IMCA Sport Compact 15-lap feature presented by Hy-Vee. Mitichal Bunch, a Des Moines Iowa native was on the pole and to his outside it was the 13 of Connor Adkins. Bunch would lead lap one and never lost it until Michael Gradner was run the middle and got a few runs on Bunch but racing fans were in for a thrilling finish as Bunch won by .007 at the flagstand. Christian Grady, Spencer Roggentien and Katelynn Watts rounded out the top five.
It was time for some topless feature action, as the IMCA SportMods presented by Rugged Radios. It was 30 laps of action pact topless racing. Curt Smeins, a Dike Iowa native started on the pole and to his outside was the kid rocket Kaden Rice. Jenae Gustin would lead lap one but some early cautions helped Brayton Carter keep the gap close and Speedy Bray was able to get past Gustin to secure the Capital Sign Twin Topless Dirty 30's $1,000.00 to Win IMCA SportMods feature. Cory Kemkes, Can Reimers, Jenae Gustin and Kyle Olson who ran a plus 11 rounded out the top five.
After some topless feature action, it was time for the IMCA HobbyStocks presented by Big 8 Tyre Center geared up to go 16 laps. This race saw lots of side by side action between Bradly Graham, a Victor Iowa native and Sam West, a Ferguson Iowa native. A late caution bunched the field back up but racing fans saw another exciting finish as Sam West beat Bradley Graham to the flagstand and stole the win by .007. Eric Stanton, Kolby Sabin and Brayden Fahrni rounded out the top five.
It was time for a night cap, the IMCA Modifieds presented by Tire Demon by Love Tap It was 30 laps of action pact topless racing. Kollin Hibdon, who won last week's feature, started on the pole and never looked back but a few yellows helped bunched the field up. A late yellow with a few laps to go gave Tanner Black a chance to get by Hibdon but he never did as Hibdon would win Capital Sign Twin Topless Dirty 30's $1,200.00 to Win IMCA SportMods feature. Trevor Fitz, Todd Shute and Cory Wray rounded out the top five.
Next week on Friday June 13, is P&D Welding Solutions $1,000.00 to Win Mods and $500.00 to Win Mod Structural Shoot-Out at America’s Bucket List Track. It’s is weekly invert for the other four weekly classes that will also be racing. Pits open at 5:15, grandstands open at 5:30, with hot laps beginning at 6:30.
