Tyler Stevens Races in Kenneth Mitchell Memorial

Tyler Stevens embarked on the inaugural Kenneth Mitchell Memorial on Friday night at 67 Speedway of Texarkana. Twenty-five competitors were on hand as preliminary action kicked off. Tyler struggled in qualifying, but bounced back to win his heat race, which earned him a spot in the redraw for Saturday night’s 55-lap, $5,555-to-win finale. (Chad Brzeski photo)

Receiving the fourth spot in the redraw, Tyler advanced to the second position on the opening lap. He bided his time before charging to the lead on the 17th circuit of the 55-lap affair. Once out front he never looked back on his way to his eighth victory of the season and the richest win of his career.

Kyle Beard, Jon Mitchell, J.C. Waller, and David Winslett rounded out the Top-5 finishers.
