TRUTE SETS HISTORIC MARK WITH NASCAR REGIONAL WIN

Wisconsin Dells WI-Dave Trute of New Lisbon, WI had a Historic win in the Advanced Auto Parts Weekly Series Born Construction Sportsman at the 63rd DRP Season Opener Presented by The Country Plumber as he broke the tie with Dick Trickle for the all-time feature wins at DRP with his 79th Feature Victory. Howie Ware of South Beloit and Mark Challet of Sparta would bring the field to green and before lap one was complete Jim Cormack of Plover WI broke a lower right front ball joint sending him and Mark Challet into the front stretch wall ending their nights. Once the 25 Lap event officially got rolling it was Dave Trute chasing history as he would fire to the front and never look back. With this win Trute breaks the tie with Dick Trickle and becomes the winningest driver in Dells Raceway Park with 79 feature wins. Trute was followed to the line by Tommy Moore, Bobby Turzinski Jr., Howie Ware and Jacob Meyer. Trute was fastest in qualifying with a lap of 14.665. The Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash was won by Jim Cormack and the heat was won by Charles Vian Jr. The Advanced Auto Parts NASCAR Weekly Born Construction Sportsman return to action next week for Jose’s Authentic Mexican Restraunt Night at the Races.
