Dillon McCowan scores runner-up finish in Hell Tour stop at Kankakee County Speedway
Dillon McCowan started off his 2025 Hell Tour title chase on Tuesday afternoon at Brownstown (Ill.) Bullring as he joined 44 DIRTcar Summer Nationals entries in the Land of Lincoln for the $5,000-to-win season opener.
Finishing third in a heat race, McCowan started from the fifth-row in the 30-lapper and recorded a Top-10 finish in 10th.
Dillon put together his best outing of the week on Wednesday evening where he earned the pole position at Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway after winning his heat race. Jason Feger got around McCowan early in the going, but McCowan was able to hold on for a second-place finish in the $5,000-to-win feature.
McCowan grabbed another heat win on Thursday at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway but fell back in the 30-lap feature and finished 14th.
Losing Friday's show at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) to rain, McCowan was back in action at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday and finished 21st in the $10,000-to-win main event.
Dillon wrapped up week one with a 13th-place outing at Sycamore (Ill.) Speedway.
McCowan finished eighth in the weekly point standings.
