Zack Mitchell Motors to $4,000 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Victory at North Georgia Speedway

(CHATSWORTH, GEORGIA) Zack Mitchell, of Enoree, South Carolina, became the sixth different winner on the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Franklin Enterprises trail in 2025 on Friday night at North Georgia Speedway! Zack, who clicked off the quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session, started the 40-lap headliner at the Chatsworth, Georgia oval from the outside of the front row. Firing off at the drop of the green flag, Zack grabbed the point immediately from polesitter David Payne and never looked back to grab the $4,000 first place prize money.

Sixth-starting Tucker Anderson vaulted to the second spot on the seventeenth circuit and ultimately recorded a strong runner-up effort in finishing 0.640 of a second behind the winning Mitchell at the checkered flag. Garrett Smith started fourth and ran as high as second before rounding out the podium in third. Josh Henry improved three positions to net his third straight fourth place performance with the tour, while two-time series winner Dillon Tidmore passed five competitors to nab the final spot inside of the top five.

Tidmore also picked up the $500 engine bonus, as the Gadsden, Alabama ace utilized Engine Package A for the entire evening, which is an open motor with a 1.100 restrictor plate. He was the highest finishing driver powered by a small or less horsepower engine, as defined by Package A, B, C, and D in the series rules. Jordon Horton, of Sneedville, Tennessee, was also awarded an extra $500 bonus for being the highest finishing driver on four American Racer tires.

“It is definitely a lot easier when you’ve got a big gap,” quoted Mitchell in victory lane at the northern Georgia facility. “I wasn’t the best in the world down here off of turn four, I just had to keep my momentum up. The racecar was really good other than that, we’ve just been working our tails off. I gotta thank my entire Coltman Farms Racing team, they all stick behind me through the good and the bad. It feels good to be back in victory lane!”

Zack Mitchell piloted a Brett Coltman-owned Longhorn Chassis powered by a Clements Racing Engine with sponsorship in part from Coltman Farms Racing, Autism Awareness, Special Needs School of Gwinnett, MPM Marketing, Bilstein Shocks, SoCar Chemical, VP Racing Fuels, and DirtCarLift.com.

A total of 35 competitors piled into the North Georgia Speedway pit area for the eighth round of Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series competition. Zack Mitchell topped the speed charts during MRP Fantasy League Hot Laps, while David Payne went quickest in VP Racing Fuels qualifying with a fast lap of 13.373 seconds. After the top six qualifiers in Group A & B were locked into the 40-lap feature, Jordon Horton, Casey Turman, TJ Brittain, and Michael Layman won the four consolation races. Series regulars Ronnie Johnson and Joe Denby received SAS provisionals to gain access into the main event.
