Ross Bailes weathers rough weekend at Screven Motor Speedway
Joining the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series in their first-ever weekend of competition, Ross Bailes rolled into Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) on Friday afternoon for the first night of Winter Freeze XV.
Once again behind the wheel of Austin Kirkpatrick's AK Race Car, Bailes qualified second-fastest in his group which placed him on the second-row for the $5,000-to-win opener. Running inside the Top-5 for much of the feature, Ross made hard contact with a slowing car which ended his night early.
Hoping for better luck in Saturday's finale, Ross started eighth in the 50-lap feature and was caught up in a major pileup which once again ended his night.
