Thornton races into High Bank Heist at Eagle Raceway
Dylan Thornton made his debut with the FloRacing Night in America presented by Kubota miniseries on Tuesday at Marshalltown Speedway, as the Iowa oval hosted Round 4 of the 10-race tour.
Facing a stacked field, Thornton secured the final transfer spot through his consolation race to earn a place in the $20,000-to-win main event, but his night came to an early end with a lap-12 retirement.
Thornton then turned his attention to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned High Bank Heist at Eagle Raceway, where he recorded a 13th-place finish in Thursday’s preliminary feature before bowing out early during Friday’s B-Main.
Returning to the third-mile oval Saturday, the Orcutt, California native advanced to the $50,000-to-win High Bank Heist finale by winning his consolation race. Though his feature run ended on lap four, the weekend provided valuable seat time against some of the nation’s top competition.
