Thornton bags second-place finish at Lee County Speedway
With his Eldora Speedway debut on the horizon, Dylan Thornton used a pair of Malvern Bank East Series events across Iowa this past weekend as a final tune-up.
Thornton kicked off the doubleheader on Friday at C.J. Speedway’s Tony Stewart Tribute, where he rebounded from a fifth-place heat finish by charging forward six spots in the feature to claim 10th.
The following night at Lee County Speedway, Thornton turned in an even stronger performance. After placing fourth in his heat, he raced to a runner-up finish in the $3,000-to-win A-Main, joining winner Dallon Murty and third-place finisher Jesse Sobbing on the podium.
