Gary Cunningham Memorial This Saturday Night
THOROLD, ONTARIO (June 16, 2025) … Merrittville Speedway will be back in action this coming Saturday night as the Southern Ontario Sprints return for the Gary Cunningham Memorial. Cotton Inc will be presenting the racing action at “Canada’s Oldest Dirt Track”.
The Gary Cunningham Memorial is held annually at Merrittville in honor of the renowned engine builder who passed away in 2010 at just 61 years of age. Gary’s competitive spirit lives on in the hearts of many local racers including his son Travis, an accomplished racer in both a 360 Sprint Car, and a 358 Modified. Travis also served as a track announcer at both Merrittville and Humberstone, as well as served as a co-host of the Southern Ontario Dirt Show podcast with Merrittville Speedway announcer Jonathon Howe.
