Kaleb Johnson Adds Another Podium at Huset’s Speedway to Highlight Busy Week

Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (June 16, 2025) – Kaleb Johnson capped a five-race week with a podium performance on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway.
The strong outing, which was his fifth podium in six races at the track this year, pushed his lead in the track’s championship standings to 36 points.
The night began with the Team DGRD driver setting quick time in his qualifying group. He then advanced a position in a heat race to make the feature redraw. Johnson pulled the No. 5 during the random draw to line up on the inside of the third row in the main event.
“We’ve been really solid in qualifying and we were able to pick off one spot in the heat race,” he said. “Feature-wise, we didn’t get a great start. I think I fell to seventh. As the feature went on we kept getting better and better. I felt I might have had a shot to win at the end, but I should have tried the bottom.”
The busy week also featured races with three different racing series. Johnson ended in the B Main last Tuesday at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., with Kubota High Limit Racing. Two nights later, the team maneuvered from 14th to ninth during a POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint League show at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. Johnson then highlighted a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, by making the main event on Saturday.
“Qualifying hasn’t been our strong suit, but both nights at Knoxville I’d say we made up for it even though we didn’t make the feature on Friday,” he said. “On Saturday, I was able to have a really good first lap to get into fifth. It was good to make the feature. Even though the results weren’t great, it was good to get laps against those guys.”
Another huge week is on tap with four straight nights of World of Outlaws races at Huset’s Speedway. The $100,000-to-win Huset’s Hustle is Wednesday and Thursday followed by the $250,000-to-win BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals presented by Menards on Friday and Saturday.
“I’m excited for it, to get to race close to home for a lot of money,” Johnson said. “Hopefully we have a solid showing each night. If we can make the main event all four nights I’d be happy.”
