Erb opens DIRTcar Summer Nationals with trio of top-10 finishes in Week One
Looking to defend his 2024 DIRTcar Summer Nationals title, Tyler Erb kicked off the grueling tour on Tuesday afternoon at Brownstown Bullring aboard his Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model.
After narrowly advancing with a fourth-place finish in his heat race, Erb rallied from mid-pack to record a ninth-place finish in the 30-lap feature.
A late-race spin in Wednesday’s main event at Kankakee County Speedway dropped him to 16th in the final rundown, but he bounced back with a week-best seventh-place effort on Thursday at Peoria Speedway.
With Friday’s event at Tri-City Speedway washed out by rain, Erb resumed competition on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway, where he was caught in a multi-car incident on lap 37 but battled back to finish 11th in the $10,000-to-win affair.
Erb closed out the Week One stretch on Sunday evening with a solid sixth-place finish at Sycamore Speedway.
