Mills earns pair of 10th-place finishes at Kankakee and Peoria with Summer Nationals
With plans to chase the entire 2025 schedule, Trey Mills joined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour at Brownstown (Ill.) Bullring on Tuesday afternoon to kick off the mini-tour with a $5,000-to-win opener.
Falling back to fifth in his heat race, Mills was slated for a last chance showdown and missed the A-Main transfer spot by just one position.
The following night at Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway, Mills finished runner-up in a heat and started seventh in the 30-lap feature. Trey kept his nose clean and wound up with a Top-10 in 10th. Trey recorded another solid run on Thursday night at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway where he charged from 17th-to-10th to land another Top-10 outing.
Losing Friday's show at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) to rain, Trey wrapped up the weekend with a 23rd-place DNF at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday and finished 14th in the last feature event of the week at Sycamore (Ill.) Speedway on Sunday.
