PARTNERS, NOT SPONSORS (YES, THERE'S A DIFFERENCE)
As we pack up the trailers and hit the road for our first ‘traveling’ race of the season, I found myself pondering all kinds of things; tire pressures, fuel prices, whether I packed enough socks, but the most frequent question I’ve gotten this week is: “What do your sponsors actually do for you?”
Well, first off... we don’t really call them “sponsors.” That makes it sound like they just write a check, slap their logo on the side of a car, and vanish into the sunset. Nah, we call them partners. They’re in this crazy thing with us, sometimes even deeper than we are.
Let’s break it down.
Quick Change Liquid Energy – Mike Mitchell & Randy Wright
These two don’t just “support the series”—they live it. They pay out to the 1st place winner, help cover travel money for the teams (bless them), and pitch in wherever we need it, basically race series first responders. But it’s not just the money, Mike and Randy are constantly sending texts, making phone calls, checking in, and reminding us why we started this thing in the first place. They’re racers helping racers. And they’re in it with us for the long haul. I mean it when I say we couldn’t do this without them. Also, they’ve seen things, done racing things, and lived racing things.. They bring a kind of wisdom to the table that Google cannot teach you.
Blake Robertson – BR Motorsports
Where do I start? Blake didn’t just toss us some change and walk away. Nope. He helped cover the cost of our website (yep, the one you’re probably reading this on), and helped our teams with parts, because let’s be honest, race cars don’t run on prayers and duct tape alone.
Blake gets it. He’s lived the grind. He knows what it’s like to race with a blue-collar crew that runs on passion and methanol fumes. He even lets us use his trailer, his generator, and the massive BR Motorsports EZ-UP that’s basically become our mobile HQ. Oh, and he spreads the word about the series like it’s gospel. Seriously, if you've got a pulse and a sprint car, chances are Blake has already handed you my number. We wouldn’t be where we are without him.
MyRacePass – The Silent Hero
You ever try to keep track of heat races, points, payouts, without MyRacePass? Obviously it was done before, but MyRacePass just makes it easier. I have. It’s not pretty. These guys came in clutch, offering their services at a huge discount, building our website, and saving us a boatload of money and headaches.
Whether it’s race day or the off-season, MyRacePass is my best friend (don’t tell my actual friends). They’ve given us tech support, promotion tools, and more convenience than we probably deserve. They’re the unsung pit crew of this series.
Chris Ennis – Sidewaze Designs
You know that slick logo you see on websites, socials, and cars? That’s Chris. The man, the myth, the mouse-clicking legend. He’s come up with several logos for us, because apparently I can’t make up my mind, and has never once threatened to block my number (publicly).
Chris is a racer too, so he gets the culture, the chaos, and the caffeine-fueled midnight texts about font changes. He’s a creative partner in every sense.
These four; Mike, Randy, Blake, the MyRacePass crew, and Chris, they’re not just writing checks. They’re checking in, showing up, and helping build something that lasts. They are truly partners, and we’re grateful for every bit of support, wisdom, and sarcasm they bring to the table.
Still Room at the Table
Now, just because we’ve got some incredible partners doesn’t mean we’re done. We’re always looking for more people who want to jump on this wild ride with us, people who want to help with things like heat race winner payouts, quick time awards, tow money, and those oh-so-sweet “big check” events.
We’re not here for a short run. Brian and I are in this for the long game, and we believe our partners are too.
We work hard to make sure our partners get the love they deserve, social media shoutouts, recognition at the track, and probably a thank-you text from me in the wee hours of the morning. We want our partners to be proud to be part of this thing. We want their ideas, feedback, and occasional tough love too. The future of this series? It’s big, it’s bright, and it’s gaining speed with every lap.
So hey, if you know anyone who wants to partner up, bring ’em our way. Seriously, be like Blake, pass my number out like candy. Let’s grow this thing into something no one saw coming.
And to those who’ve been with us since lap one, thank you. You’re the reason we’re even talking about race four.
