Inside Line Promotions – AVON, Ind. (Aug. 20, 2019) – Swindell SpeedLab eSports Team driver Blake Matjoulis scored his second triumph of the iRacing season on Monday evening during World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series competition at Limaland Motorsports Park.
The victory propelled him into the lead in the championship standings by nine points over teammate Kendal Tucker with only one race remaining.
The season finale is Monday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
“I’m so stoked,” Matjoulis said during a post-race interview with the iRacing eSports Network. “I honestly can’t believe it. Heading into Charlotte feels really good and I can finally sleep at night. Next week will be all about running smooth and staying by Kendal and Alex (Bergeron). I don’t particularly have to win; I just have to stay smooth. I want to go in with the mindset that I’m fast and have a good piece under my hands.”
Tucker was the next highest finishing team driver as he placed eighth after setting quick time during qualifying and joining Matjoulis as a heat race winner. James Edens placed ninth in the A Main and Matthew McKinney rounded out the top 10 for the Swindell SpeedLab eSports Team.
Teammate Adam Elby won the B Main before finishing 13th in the feature and Blake Cannon posted a 20th-place result after a DNF. Cannon enters the final race of the season tied for seventh in the championship standings.
