Doubleheader at Southern Raceway Next for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Franklin Enterprises action heats back up this weekend - March 21-22 - in a doubleheader at Southern Raceway in Milton, Florida! A $3,000 winner’s check will be on the line this Friday night, while SAS competitors will vie for a $7,000 payday on Saturday evening. In all, over $40,000 in posted prize money will be up for grabs in the Sunshine State this weekend. It all gets started on Thursday with an open practice session from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
Joining the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series at Southern Raceway on Friday will be the IMCA Modifieds ($1,000 to win), Vintage ($600 to win), Stingers ($500 to win), and Bombers ($350 to win). The gates will swing open at 4:00pm and the Drivers Meeting will get underway at 6:00pm. Hot Laps will take to the racetrack shortly thereafter, while the red-hot racing competition starts at 7:00pm.
General admission will be $25.00 for adults, $20.00 for seniors & military, $10.00 for kids ages 6-17, and FREE for small children ages five and under.
There is also a two-day adult ticket available for $40.00, which will get you into the grandstands for both Friday and Saturday’s events. Pit admission on Friday will be $40.00 for adults, $20.00 for kids ages 6-12, and FREE for small children ages five and under.
On Saturday, the IMCA Modified ($1,000 to win), Sportsman ($750 to win), Vintage ($750 to win), and Bomber ($400 to win) classes will join the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series on the card. Gates will open at 3:30pm and the Drivers Meeting is set for 5:30pm. Hot Laps will get underway shortly after the Drivers Meeting concludes and the side-by-side racing is slated to commence at 6:30pm.
Even with the increase in purse money on Saturday evening, the ticket prices will remain the same as they are on Friday. General admission will be $25.00 for adults, $20.00 for seniors & military, $10.00 for kids ages 6-17, and FREE for small children ages five and under. Cory Hedgecock, of Loudon, Tennessee, currently sits atop the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series point standings heading into Southern Raceway, as he was the winner of the ‘Winter Championships’ at I-75 (TN) Raceway back on February 1. Hedgecock leads Billy Franklin, Kendall Franklin, Joe Denby, Joshua Chesney, Jordan Rodabaugh, Christian Hanger, Ronnie Johnson, Matthew Brocato, and John Ownbey in the chase for the Championship, which will award the SAS Champion $10,000 at year's end.

Body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others. Additional rules including engine and weight rules can be found online at www.SASDirt.com. The entry fee will be $100 on Friday and $120 on Saturday. Transponders will also be available to rent.
