Matt Caprara Fourth Different Brewerton Speedway Modified Winner

BREWERTON, NY (June 13, 2025) – Friday night at the Brewerton Speedway Matt Caprara parked his car in victory lane. With his win he became the fourth different winner in the Tracey Road DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds in four features raced this season.
Other winners on Schneider Packaging Company & Microgame Play and Trade family Autograph night. Tyler Corcoran (DOT Foods DIRTcar Sportsman) Joe Isabell (AmeriCU Credit Union STARS Mod Lites) Zak Petrie (Mirabito DIRTcar Four Cylinder Super Stocks).
Matt Caprara and Zach Payne brought the 35-Lap Modified feature to the green with Caprara grabbing the early advantage.
On lap five Caprara still showed the way out front with Jeff Taylor, Matt Smith, and Darren Smith locked in a tight battle on the multiple groove lightning quick surface.
On lap ten Caprara built up a sizable lead leaving Taylor, Matt Smith, Darren Smith, and Chris Hile to slug it out for second through fifth.
Darren Smith worked his way to second on lap twelve and set his sights on Caprara who was fast on the top side of the speedway.
After a yellow lap fourteen restart, Darren Smith was challenging Caprara while Hile moved into third.
At the halfway point the top five were Caprara, Darren Smith, Hile, Alan Fink in his Small Block, and Ron Davis III.
Caprara was cruising out front with ten laps to go as the rest of the top five locked in a tight fight with Darren Smith, Hile, Fink, and Larry Wight who came from the B-Main.
A yellow on lap thirty would give the field on last shot at Caprara.
Over the final laps Matt Caprara would cruise to the win. Darren Smith, Chris Hile, Larry Wight, and Alan Fink finished second through fifth.
Early in the 25-Lap Sportsman feature Savannah Laflair and Dylan Piersall would lead early laps while the racing behind them was tight for position.
A yellow on lap eight would slow the pace with Laflair, Piersall, Nick Venture, Earl Rudy, and Ryan Barrett in the top five.
Ventura would make power move to the lead. The fastest car on the speedway was Tyler Corcoran from fourteenth starting spot to the top five.
With ten laps remaining Ventura still led with Laflair, Barrett, Corcoran, and Tony Finch still in contention.
After a caution on lap eighteen Corcoran would move into second and set his sights on Ventura.
Tyler Corcoran would drive into the lead on lap twenty-one and would go unchallenged the rest of the way for his second feature win this season. Nick Ventura, Tony Finch, Savannah Laflair, and Brett Sears completed the top five.
Tom Mackey and Joe Garafolo would both lead laps in the 20-Lap Mod Lite feature. It was Joe Isabell getting by Joe Garafolo on the last lap to remain undefeated in the division in 2025. Tom Mackey, PO Trudeau, and Zack Babcock finished third through fifth.
Zak Petrie won the 15-Lap Four Cylinder Super Stock Feature ending the winning streak Chris Bonoffski had this season. Jack Taskey, Chris Bonoffski, Walt VanEpps, and Steven Burdick completed the top five.
Friday, June 20 Ehrlich Pest Control, NAPA, and VP Racing Fuels present a night of family and affordable fun racing featuring Tracey Road DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, DOT Foods DIRTcar Sportsman, AmeriCU Credit Union STARS Mod Lites, Mirabito DIRTcar Four Cylinder Super Stocks, plus Fulton's E & V Energy Novice Sportsman.
