Georgetown DE - An outside front row starting spot was all Ringoes N.J. veteran Ryan Godown needed as he was the class of the field taking the victory in the 25-lap Modified feature Friday night at Georgetown Speedway. The win for Godown, worth $2626, was the defending track champions first victory of the young 2025 season.

Steering his Bicknell Racing Products No. 26, Godown vaulted into the race lead on the first lap and then had to fend off fifth starting and eventual runner-up Alex Yankowski to preserve the win.

“We literally stripped this thing down after the heat race and put it all back together and I can’t thank all those guys for working hard.” Godown stated in victory lane.

“We had a good car tonight and I knew if I stayed in the rubber and kept my car straight and didn’t mess up my line we’d be okay.”

Ryan Krachun, Paul Mancini and Billy Pauch Jr. would complete the top five. Taking heat race wins over the 15-car field were Alex Yankowski and HJ Bunting.

After scoring his first win of the season in last Saturday’s season opening Late Model event at Pennsylvania’s Port Royal Speedway, Keystone state veteran, Rick Eckert drove to victory in the 26-lap Late Model feature.

Lining up second for the start, Eckert took the race lead from pole sitter Ross Robinson going in the first turn at the drop off the green and would drive off to a convincing $3026 victory aboard his Rocket Chassis No.24. “Our car was extremely good and everything worked out as planned.” Eckert emphasized in his post race interview.

“There were some really good cars here tonight and I figured Ross would be there early, I could hear him, but couldn’t see him because it’s really hard to see left in these cars but it was definitely a good race for us.”
Robinson held tough for second with Drake Troutman, Trevor Collins and 11th starting Brent Robinson rounding out the top five. Ross Robinson and Trevor Collins scored heat race wins over the 15 entries.

Youthful Bryce Bashore of Bethel, PA scored the first win of his driving career in the 20-lap Crate 602 Sportsman contest. Bashore wrestled the lead from Greg Humlhanz on a lap-eight restart and would run the race of his life to score the breakthrough win over eventual runner-up Thomas Sherby for the $1026 victory.
“When I was running third there I didn’t think I could get those guys but that Delaware double file restart gave me the chance to burn it in and we were able to get by both of them, I couldn’t be happier right now,” said Bashore, a weekly competitor at PA’s Big Diamond Speedway last year.

James Hill, eighth starting Joe Toth and Dylan Madsen trailed at the finish. Heats for the 22 car’s entered went to Bryce Bashore, Clay Tatman and Joe Toth.

Trevor Collins came from his third starting spot to claim the 15 lap, $750 to win, RUSH Crate Late Model main. Derek Magee, Nick Davis, Joey Warren and Virginia racer Devin Brannon completed the top five. Heats went to Matt Hill and Trevor Collins.

Wyatt Cummings took the win in the 12-lap Delmarva Charger feature over Randy Merritt, John Healy, Ron Falkner and Josh Dahling.
