Fridays UMP Late Model Feature looked like the “Hotshoe” Mike Vandermark Jr. was going to use his 3rd starting position to easily sail away with the win, but after getting out to a huge lead, he got into the wall in turn 4 causing him to exit to the pit area. Alot of drivers were in contention after that incident. After a few restarts, we saw many battles, but nobody was strong enough to overtake the local boy, Travis Stemler. 1st-#4 Travis Stemler 2nd-#M14 Brandon Thirlby 3rd-#18 Chase Burda 4th-#42 Chad Finley 5th-#37 Jordan Dahlke. Heats were won by Stemler and Vandermark. Fast Time went to Stemler with a fast lap of 15.666.

We had another strong field of open wheel drivers on hand to do battle in the feature for the Hubbco Race Products IMCA Modifieds. It was a toss up of which driver was going to park it in the end as the whole race saw comers and goers. But, when the checkered flag finally fell on the field, it would be two drivers moving up 5 and 6 spots, respectively, to finish 1st and 2nd. 1st-#71 Brenten Deyoung 2nd-#12 Jeff Reay 3rd-#19jr Kody Johnson 4th-#7d Myron Deyoung 4th-#83 “Portland Powerhouse” Casey Smith. Heat race winners were #10 Gary Vandermark and #43 Mark Anderson.

You can always count on 3 names to find themselves battling for supremacy in our Pro Stock class and those names were no different Friday Night. This week, the same as every other, had Billy Trueblood Jr., Mike Husted, and Rob Putt racing to see who had the car set up the best and this night would go to current points leader, Billy Trueblood Jr. 1st-#35 Billy Trueblood Jr. 2nd-#87 Rob Putt 3rd-#45 Mike Husted. Heat race was won by Husted.

We saw a strong field of Street Stocks once again this Fathers Day Weekend and they did not disappoint. Every week we've had point leader, Carlind Forsythe, battling with Bill Brandt Jr. and this week was more of the same with some extras thrown in. In the end, those two would give way to a driver traveling from Muskegon to win the A Main, Mike Lynn, in only his second stop at I-96 Speedway, with the first trip resulting in a 2nd place finish behind Brandt. 1st-#96 Mike Lynn 2nd-#67 Carlind Forsythe 3rd-#65 Bill Brandt Jr. 4th-#56 Richard Adam's 5th-#2 Hunter Evans. Heat races went to Brandt and #46 David Schmidt.

Sport Compacts would see a first time winner visiting the Allstar Performance/Lane Automotive Victory Lane, not once, but twice. “The Muskegon Missile” Jordan Siegel showed that he's been working on getting faster every week by going 2 for 2 in races this Friday evening. 1st-#14 “Muskegon Missile” Jordan Siegel 2nd-#2.8 Allen Murray 3rd-#49 Austin Terryn 4th-#2 Cam Hendrickson 5th-#31 Trenton Dingman. Heat winners were Siegel and Terryn.

Unrestricted Mini Wedges (10-14) had battles throughout the field as it was anyone's race. Coming out on top after holding off strong runs by multiple drivers was the point leader. 1st-#71k Karsyn Crosby 2nd-#37 “Baby Shark” Robbie Sternberg Jr. 3rd-#26 Austin Fellows. Heat races were won by #12 John Major and #42 Matthew Brewer.

Restricted Mini Wedges (6-9) has been a battle between two drivers in Lola Stemler and Axle Smith, but this week had many more contenders show up to challenge them and some of our weekly drivers are showing their improvement and providing challenges, as well. But, even with the new challenges facing those 2, they still rose to the occasion. 1st-#85 “Wild Child” Axle Smith 2nd-#7 Hailey Murray 3rd-#6 Lola Stemler. Heat races were won by Smith and Stemler.

Its always a great time to be at I-96 Speedway, and this coming Friday will be no different. Sprint Cars invade the track for Compacts Unleashed Vs. GLSS Night. Come on out and see a great show at your Home For Friday Night Dirt Track Racing, I-96 Speedway “Where Excitement Lives”!
