Jamestown Speedway

2018 Schedule Released

For Immediate Release:

Saturday Nights will soon be filled with loud cars, slingin’ dirt and good times at the Jamestown Speedway. Racing resumes in early may (pending spring actually deciding to arrive of course!). All classes and procedures will remain the same as last year – Bombers, WISSOTA B-Mods, WISSOTA Street Stocks, IMCA Modifieds and the SlingShots will take to the track each weekend. We’re fortunate to again get to host a variety of visiting classes and touring events. June 2 the ND Legends Tour stops in Jamestown. June 9th the NOSA 410 Sprint Cars will be here. July 7th the Dakota Classic Modified Tour kicks off in Jamestown. July 14th Sprint Cars will be here again – this time it is mini-sprints. While a little smaller, they still have the big wings and turn some incredibly fast lap times! Aug 4th the NLRA Late Models come to town.

In addition to the touring events, our traditional themed nights are back too. May 26 we’ll host an Armed Forces Appreciation night, giving thanks to all who’ve sacrificed so we can do things like go out and enjoy car racing each weekend! Kids night will be June 23rd this year – kids get to come out and take a slow ride on a race car around the speedway. July 4th we get to host the community fireworks display following a special Wednesday night of racing. August 19th is our back to school night, and we’ll wrap things up for the regular season with the Season Championship on Aug 26th. The 47th Annual Stock Car Stampede is Sept 21-22.

On another note – a goal of ours this year is to build engagement with the fans, and with the community. Some items are smaller – like providing a weekly program we’re calling the ‘Quarter Mile Times’ instead of just a point sheet. Skovy from the James Valley Street Machines is coordinating a No Lift Report email newsletter for the speedway – you may remember the trial run we did with this last year. One of the bigger items is the Kids’ Bus that first appeared at the Stampede last fall. Drivers – remember this is a great way to build your fan base! On the community side of things we’re starting a program called ‘Jamestown Speedway Gives Back’, where each month we’re picking a concession item and will make a donation to a local charity based on the number of those items we sell – say $.50 for each box of popcorn we sell in the month of May, for example.

A big thank-you to our fans, staff, drivers, sponsors and supporters of racing – you make all of this possible! See you soon on Saturday night!
