Silver Cup XXXIV Could Be a Wide Open Night
Sarver, PA (July 21, 2025) The Kubota High Limit Racing Sprint Cars have had an interesting run up in the week ahead of Tuesday's Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup to say the least. Fans may indeed need a new lineup card heading into the 34th edition of the Silver Cup and the action could very well be wide open not only with the speed on the track, but also with a chance for any number of first time winners who have had their odds of reaching Terry Bowser Excavating Victory Lane go up substantially in the past few days. Series regulars Brad Sweet, Aaron Reutzel and Tyler Courtney all suffered unfortunate injuries at Eldora Speedway in both the High Limit Joker's Jackpot and the World of Outlaws King's Royal portion of the week of Sprint Car racing at the famed Rossburg, OH venue.
Courtney, driver of the number 7BC Clauson-Marshall entry will be out for the foreseeable future as he recovers from a reported successful back surgery. Meanwhile, Reutzel is recovering from a broken right foot and Sweet is dealing with the effects of a concussion. However, although the three of them will be missing from the SIlver Cup lineup, the show must go on, and is now a wide open affair. Veteran Ohio based pilot Cole Duncan has been selected to take the reins of Clauson's 7BC entry on Tuesday night, while Reutzel's #87 car has not announced any plans for a replacement at this time. Both Reutzel and Clauson will receive medical provisionals for the immediate time, awarding the teams some points while their driver's are on the mend.
Former Silver Cup champion Kyle Larson and defending champ Rico Abreu will be among the favorites to watch to be certain, however the lineup still packs a tremendous punch as Kings Royal winner Anthony Macri, Brent Marks, Justin Peck, Daison Pursley, Spencer Bayston and Tanner Thorson all look to be in the mix for the $25,000 payday. And, it's always a good bet that a good many heavyweights from Central Pennsylvania and Ohio will be stopping by with even better odds to etch their name on the all time winner's list. Indeed, this could be the year a driver not many thought of comes out of nowhere and makes history at Lernerville Speedway on Tuesday night!
