Bradley Cox tackles Tulsa Shootout in 2025 season opener
Burkburnett, Texas' Bradley Cox kickstarted his 2025 season this past week with the 40th annual Smiley’s Racing Product Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy Drink at the Tulsa (OK) Expo Center.
Joining over 1000 entries across six divisions on Tuesday as his preliminary night got underway on New Year's Eve, Cox settled with a seventh-place finish in his Winged Outlaw heat but was able to secure some passing points with a ninth-to-seventh run.
After turning in a sixth-place finish in his Non-Winged Outlaw heat on Wednesday, Bradley's Tulsa Shootout took a turn for the worst on Thursday.
Cox was running in fourth in his Winged Outlaw when he suffered a broken oil pressure line, ending his run. In the Non-Winged Outlaw, Bradley worked his way up to second when another competitor made contact and he sent him on his lid.
After a rough day on Thursday, Cox elected to sit out the remainder of the event and prepare of the Chili Bowl.
