Wells, Herring Jr, Bryant, Bourne take top honors at Octoberfest

The wind and sun came to the rescue for the 2021 Octoberfest Saturday night race following a rain out the night before. A field of 111 cars rolled through the back gate ready to battle for the top prize. Wesley Bourne from Cameron,OK took home the hardware and a check for $1,400 in the Factory Stock division following a three car battle to the finish. Stigler,OK native Andrew Bohanan finished 2nd with Tulsa's Matt French finishing in the third position in an action packed race.

Next up were the B-mods running for added money and a $2,500 top prize. Cody King set an early pace and appeared to be the car to beat before pulling in to the infield due to mechanical issues. Fort Scott,Kansas native Andy Bryant began to charge through the field from the eighth starting position and a fierce battle ensued with Muskogee's own Klye Slader. Bryant was victorious at the end and took home the top spot. Muskogee's Dalton Ragsdale would finish third with another strong showing.

In the A-mod division Udall Kansas native Lucas Gibbs set a strong pace coming from 6th place to lead the early laps of the race. Gibbs would eventually have issues after hitting a rough spot in the racing service and finished in the 6th position. Brendon Gemmill from Witchita,KS had a strong run to the front but came up just one spot short of the win. Woodward,Oklahoma's Jon Herring Jr would eventually take over the top spot and didn't look back to secure the win and take home the $1,000 check.

The final race of the night featured the Cash Money Late Model Series. Joplin Missouri's Steve Johnson set the early pace of the race. Cole Wells of Aurora, MO had other plans however and quickly took over the lead. Webb City Missouri's Mitch Keeter made a strong run to the second spot where he would eventually finish. Justin Wells also from Aurora,MO was definitely the hard charger of the night with an impressive run coming all the way from 19th to finish 3rd. Ultimately the top prize would be awarded to Cole Wells the current points leader.
