Weather Forces Postponement of Jimmy “Pup” Thomas Memorial at Tazewell
(Eastaboga, AL – June 17, 2025) – The inaugural Jimmy “Pup” Thomas Memorial scheduled for this Thursday night at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN, has been postponed due to an unfavorable weather forecast.
According to the National Weather Service, scattered thunderstorms are expected Thursday morning, with thunderstorms becoming likely in the afternoon and evening hours. The forecast currently shows a 70% chance of rain for much of the day and night, leaving officials no choice but to postpone the event for the safety of teams, fans, and staff.
Officials from both Tazewell Speedway and Crate Racin’ USA are actively working to secure a make-up date later this summer. Once a new date is finalized, it will be announced via Tazewell Speedway’s social media outlets and all official Crate Racin’ USA outlets.
Meanwhile, attention now turns to I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN, where weather forecasts are looking favorable for this weekend’s JT Kerr Memorial. The $10,000-to-win event will feature preliminary action on Friday night, followed by B-Mains and the feature event on Saturday night.
