Race of Champions Saturday Thrills Fans at The BullRing in Perry, NY
The BullRing came alive on Saturday, June 14th, with action-packed racing across four competitive divisions during the Race of Champions (ROC) Night. With beautiful weather and a Father’s Day weekend celebration, fans filled the stands for an unforgettable evening of high-speed action.
Alan Bookmiller Wins ROC Sportsman Thriller
The ROC Sportsman feature saw 18 drivers battle for 40 laps in a high-stakes race. Alan Bookmiller of Castile, NY drove a calculated race, moving up from 6th to secure the victory. Andrew Lewis Jr. of Ontario, NY and Dan Majchrzak rounded out the podium. The race featured intense side-by-side action and impressive charges through the field, including an 8-position gain from Kevin Timmerman.
The Race of Champions 602 Sportsman saw Joey VanLare of Williamson, NY climb from 3rd to win the 15-lap feature. Madison Knapp and John Sippel followed closely behind in a tight race that wrapped up the night’s program.
The SST Super Stocks did not disappoint, Dan Majchrzak of Perry, NY dominated the SST Super Stocks, capturing both the heat and feature win in the 30-lap main event. Majchrzak charged from 4th to 1st in the feature, beating out Derrick Vogler of Geneva, NY and Tim Nawrocki of Hamlin, NY in a competitive field of ten.
In the ROC FOAR Score Dash Series, Tommy Hughes of Akron, NY showed strength in the 25-lap ROC FOAR Score Dash Series feature, holding off Gene Purvis and Patsy Catalano to take the checkered flag. Hughes also won his heat race, making it a clean sweep for the No. 24 machine.
