Setser notches top-10 finish in Justin Owens Memorial at Lawrenceburg

Gunnar Setser kicked off a USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship doubleheader weekend with a short 90-mile haul to Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana, on Friday afternoon.

The night got off to a challenging start, as Setser struggled to find speed in time trials and his heat race. However, the youngster showed resilience in the 30-lap feature, gaining ground to salvage a 17th-place finish.

Setser bounced back in a big way on Saturday at the prestigious Justin Owen Memorial at Lawrenceburg Speedway. He clocked the third-fastest time in his qualifying group and followed it up with a fifth-place finish in his heat race, earning a spot in the $7,400-to-win main event.

In the 30-lap finale, Setser delivered a solid performance against a stout field, driving to a 10th-place finish.
