Preliminary features bring Drake Troutman pair of Top-10 finishes ahead of rainout

Closing out the Northern stretch of the tour, Drake Troutman and the G.R. Smith Motorsports team rolled up to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) for the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series-sanctioned Gopher State 50.

Winning a last chance showdown on night one, Troutman stormed through the field in the 40-lap preliminary and wound up inside the Top-10 in ninth.

Drake once again charged through the field during Friday's preliminary feature after taking a provisional starting spot. Troutman went from 24th-to-5th over 40-laps and scored a Top-5 in the $10,000-to-win prelim.

Saturday's $50,000-to-win finale was rained out and will not be made up.

Troutman is fourth in the World of Outlaw point standings.
